Change the trees shadow

Change the trees shadow.

The shadow can be switched on and off using the Shadow check box in the Tree Designer palette.

You can render the shadow on it's own by selecting the "Shadow only" option in the Render Quality menu in the Tree Designer palette.

Length and position of the shadow.

The length and position of a shadow is defined by the time of day. Use the Time menu in the Tree Designer palette to set this.

If you need more control then open the Shadow Options palette by selecting "Shadow Options" in the Window menu.

Using the Sun Direction compass you can set the direction of the shadow and using the Sun Height slider you can set the shadows length.

Changing the darkness of the shadow.

First open the Shadow Options palette by selecting "Shadow Options" in the Window menu.

You can set the darkness of the shadow manually using the Shadow Intensity slider.

If you are pasting the tree over another picture then it is probably easier to use the Calibrate button which should set the shadow intensity correctly.

If the tree itself is too dark or too bright then use the Ambient Brightness slider to adjust this.
