Changing colours and textures.

Change the background colour.

Change the colours of the bark, leaves and fruit.

Add your own bark and leaf textures.

Change the background colour.

1. Click on the World Colour button in the Tree Designer palette.

2. Select a colour from the palette. If you want to paste a picture of the tree over another picture then you should choose a black background.

3. Click the "OK" button.

With a black background you will not be able to see the shadow. It is still there and will show up if the tree picture is pasted over another picture. You should use a different colour background to position the shadow in Little Stick. When you are satisfied, change the background to black and save the picture.

The shadow is in the alpha (or mask) layer. So you will need to save the picture in a format that uses alpha layers such as TIFF. Some formats such as JPEG do not have alpha layers.

Change the colours of the bark, leaves and fruit.

Change the bark and leaf textures.

2. View the tree from your desired position.

3. Click on the Load Wood texture button in the Tree Designer palette.

4. Select a picture to use as a wood texture. Photographs of bark are particularly good.

5. Click on the Tile check box to tile the texture along the tree if you have a very simple texture. Little Stick tries it's best to wrap your texture as seamlessly as possible.

6. Create a leaf texture.

6. Click on the Load Leaf texture button in the Tree Designer palette.

7. Select your leaf picture to use as a leaf texture. The alpha layer within the leaf picture describes the outline of the leaf.
